About

After years of doing commercial, industrial and architectural photography I now do fine art landscape and composite photography. As a commercial photographer you are dealing with extreme lighting and location issues, that fine tune one into being more proficient at your craft than most would be. This then has been a tremendous base to grow and expand on in being the fine art photographer I endeavor to be.

Photography being both an art and science, my love for astronomy/science and photography/art has led me to strive to be creative and unique in a world where everyone is doing the same thing over and over again. I do take inspiration from other artist, especially those outside of photography, but then how far can I push it to be even a little different from the crowd of mediocracy. To bring more meaning and wonder to our lives on this beautiful planet.

I grew up in the world of film and darkrooms: there I learned that you did as much as one could to take a beautiful photograph in the camera. But film does have its limitations, and that is where the darkroom came in to highlight and bring forth the beauty of your image. The same is true today with digital cameras and photoshop that replaced darkrooms. (I don’t miss the chemicals at all.) Lighting, composition, lens choice is so important in taking the photograph. But that for me is only the beginning, post-processing is where I love to bring what I have photographed to life and shine forth in all it’s glory. Combining different images to make something new and inspiring for me is what is all about.

Thank you for visiting my website and gallery, I hope you find something to put on your walls that inspires you to be more creative with your life what ever it is you are doing.
